Family owned, family strong
At a time when other banks have been bought, sold and bought again, Amarillo National Bank is proud to offer our customers roughly a century of unbroken family leadership. One of the early settlers in the Amarillo area, Benjamin Taliaferro (B.T.) Ware, was a well-known cattleman and merchant banker. In 1909 he gained control of Amarillo National Bank, and the Ware family has been the driving force behind the bank ever since. In fact, the Ware family was named "Bankers of the Century" by Texas Monthly in December 1999, and today the fourth generation of Wares, Richard and Bill, is leading the way forward.
For our customers, the Ware family’s steady hand means continuity, stability and confidentiality. We understand the personal nature of your financial matters, so you can rest assured that your private business stays your business. And we know what it’s like to work together, struggle together and prosper together — that’s why ANB is so committed to helping other families grow and thrive in the town we call home.
