Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for Purchases

 

0.00% introductory APR for first 6 months on all card types. All cards are adjustable rate may vary with the market based on the Prime Rate index. After the introductory rate expires, your rate will be the one of the following based on card type and credit worthiness.

  • Platinum Card: 9.99%, 11.99% or 13.99%

  • Platinum Rewards: 13.99%, 15.99% or 17.99%

  • Classic Card: 11.99%, 13.99% or 17.99%

  • Classic Secured Card: 16.99% or 17.99%

APR for Balance Transfers

Classic Secure Card

In order to receive this Account you must deposit funds with us that will serve as collateral for your credit card obligations to us. By submitting this application, you are requesting us to open a Savings Deposit Account for you, you acknowledge and agree that you will have relinquished all possession and control over the funds you deposit and that we will retain possession of the instrument that represents your deposit.

How to Avoid Paying Interest on Purchases

Your due date is at least 25 days after the close of each billing cycle. We will not charge you any interest on purchases if you pay your entire balance by the due date each month.

 

We will begin charging interest on cash advances and balance transfers on the transaction date.

Minimum Interest Charges

If you are charged interest, the charge will be no less than $1.00.

Fees 

Set-up and Maintenance Fees

Annual Fee:

  • None for Platinum Rewards and Classic Card Types.
    $15.00 on Classic Secured Cards. First year fee is waived.

 

Additional Card Fee:

  • $7.50 

Transaction Fees

Balance Transfer:

  • Either $5.00 or 10% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater.

 

Cash Advance:

  • Either $2 or 2% of the amount of each cash advance, whichever is greater.

 

Foreign Transaction:

  • 2% of each transaction in U.S. dollars.

Penalty Fees

Late Payment:

  • Not to exceed the lesser of 15.00% or 5% of the payment due after the payment continues unpaid for 10 days or more.

 

Returned Payment

  • $25.00 for 1st returned check and $35.00 each if a return happens again within 6 months.

How We Will Calculate Your Balance: We use a method called “average daily balance (including new purchases).” See your Credit Card Agreement for more details.

Loss of Introductory APR: We may end your introductory APR and apply the standard APRs if you fail to timely make a payment.

Billing Rights: Information on your rights to dispute transactions and how to exercise those rights is provided in your Credit Card Agreement.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROCEDURES FOR OPENING A NEW ACCOUNT: To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means to you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents. Variable Rate Information: Unless an Introductory APR is in effect, the index used to determine your variable APR is the Prime Rate show in The Wall Street Journal on the last day the rate is published in each calendar month. The index will be effective for the entire billing cycle that ends in the second month after the determination date. As of October 2012, the Prime Rate was 3.25%

APR for Purchases on Platinum card: To determine the APR for purchases, we add a margin of 6.74%, 8.74% or 10.74% to the Index. APR may vary based on credit worthiness.

APR for Purchases on Platinum Rewards card: To determine the APR for purchases, we add a margin of 10.74%, 12.74% or 14.74% to the Index. APR may vary based on credit worthiness.

APR for Purchases on Classic card: To determine the APR for purchases, we add a margin of 8.74%, 10.74% or 14.74% to the Index. APR may vary based on credit worthiness.

APR for Purchases on Classic Secured card: To determine the APR for purchases, we add a margin of 13.74% or 14.74% to the Index. APR may vary based on credit worthiness.

APR for Balance Transfers on Platinum, Platinum Rewards, and Classic cards: To determine the APR for balance transfers, we add a margin of 6.74%, 8.74% or 13.74% to the Index. APR may vary based on credit worthiness.

APR for Balance Transfers on Classic Secure card: To determine the APR for balance transfers, we add a margin of 13.74% or 14.74% to the Index. APR may vary based on credit worthiness.

The Prime Rate is subject to change monthly on the first day of each month and is the Prime Rate published in the Wall Street Journal on the last business day of the month. An increase or decrease in the Prime Rate will cause a corresponding increase or decrease in the variable rate on the first day of your billing cycle that ends on or after the date of the change. The APR for Purchases, Cash Advances and Balance Transfers will not exceed 18%. Your actual APRs will be determined based on your creditworthiness and provided to you in writing when your application is approved.

For balance transfers and cash advances, we will begin charging interest on the transaction date.

Payments on your account may be applied in the order we select, subject to applicable law. Generally this means that if you make payments in excess of the required minimum payment, we will apply the excess amount first to your balances with the highest Annual Percentage Rate. Any remaining portion of that excess amount will be applied to your other balances in descending order based on their applicable Annual Percentage Rates.

CREDIT REPORTS: By applying for this account you agree that Amarillo National Bank may obtain credit reports for purposes of processing your application and for later purposes related to your account such as reviewing, updating and renewing it, increasing the credit line and collecting. If you request, you will be informed of whether or not a credit report was requested and of the name and address of the consumer reporting agency that furnished the report. You also authorize Amarillo National Bank to verify your employment, income and other relevant information.
